Posies Driven Dirty Tour Day 0

You guys might remember some of my past blogs about the group of us hot rodders getting together at SEMA a number of years ago to discuss how we should really do something to encourage more folks to drive their cars so we planned to DRIVE to the SEMA show in Las Vegas and then proudly show these hot rods at the show with their road dirt still on them. I didn’t participate last year for one reason or another, probably because of some stupid reason like I was busy or something. Honest Mike Goodman broke last year so he didn’t get the full PDDT dose either.
This year in 2009, Mike and I decided to drive separate cars and each ask a different buddy to ride with us. He fixed his original 32 five window and hooked up with Wayne Pugh to navigate for him. I chose the 32 Roadster Pick up my son in law, Greg Cunningham and his crew at Honest Charley Garage built this past Spring in 60 days. I asked my buddy Wade Kawasaki from LA to fly out and navigate for me. He agreed and told me he would meet me over in Dayton Ohio where most of the guys planned to hook up and start our Hot Rod trek to automotive aftermarket mecca,….the SEMA Show!
Since our company is doing a few deals with my buddy Charlie Scrhroeder at Dayton Wire Wheel company, we planned for Mike to drive his car to Dayton but I would plan on trailering mine so I could take Kevin, our VP Finance and David, our VP Marketing with us so to meet w Dayton Wire Wheel. Saturday started early with only 3 hours of sleep and rolling out of Corkyville at 5 AM. David drove and we made good time headed North to Dayton. After picking up Wade, we spent a while with Charlie at Dayton and then on to his father in-law, Rick Grant’s toy building. Charlie’s wife Liz was there taking pictures and helping us get our food. We met up with all the PDDT guys at Rick’s shop, took instructions from Posie and then headed back to the hotel to lay the body down at about 10. Wade was still on Pacific time so I bet it was hard for him to rack out so early but he did. Bless his heart, I was so tired I probably snored like a freight train. BUT, we were here and ready to start our 2600 mile trek to SEMA first thing Sunday morning.
We have pictures but until I can cipher up how to get em to my marketing dudes with just a crackberry, we just have to see pictures later.
From the road,
Corky
